The former Quill Collective space in Vasse welcomes a new chapter as South West Bottega opens its doors, blending relaxed Italian dining with sustainable living.
This isn’t your usual café – it’s a place where vintage treasures and flavourful foodie finds come together, creating something funky, fun, and fresh in the heart of Vasse.
Business partners Marco Daquino and Damiano Suadoni bring complementary skills to the table.
Marco’s Perth junk removal business fuels their sustainability focus (with much of the fit-out being built from salvaged and repurposed materials).
Damiano, originally from Terni in central Italy, brings an authentic flair from his decade of experience in hospitality across Spain and Australia.
His truffle business, founded in 2021, supplies premium products to chefs and retailers worldwide.
These truffle specialties, along with olive oil pressed from fruit grown on the property’s grove, are featured on both the menu and shop shelves.
“We wanted to create a chilled space where people can gather, browse, eat, and connect,” Damiano said.
“The venue combines our love of good food with sustainable living.”

Inside, the space is cosy and full of character.
Leather couches invite lounging by a crackling fireplace, while shelves and nooks are filled with an ever-changing collection of vintage furniture, vinyl records, pantry goods, and salvaged treasures, all available for purchase.
The laid-back Italian menu allows guests to enjoy a selection of delicious antipasti, salads, and desserts, with plans to feature handmade pasta and seasonal dishes soon.
Of course, cheeseboards need great wine, and sweets and coffee are a must.
Bottega delivers on both.
‘The venue combines our love of good food with sustainable living.’

“Our community garden invites everyone to share in the growing and harvesting,” Marco explained.
“And the custom-built playground makes this a perfect spot for families.”
A rotating calendar of workshops and pop-up events is in the creative spaces pipeline, adding to the venue’s commitment to community spirit and connection.
Marco and Damiano will open their doors to the public on Saturday, July 5, at 363 Rendezvous Road, Vasse.
The venue will be open Tuesday to Thursday, 7am to 2pm; Friday and Saturday, 7am to late; and Sunday, 7am to 5pm.
