What happens when a shy vampire meets an outgoing human? Busselton SHS will answer that question in their latest production, the monstrously entertaining tale, Creepytown.
The musical follows Lucy, a vego-vampire princess who’d rather skip the blood-red juice for a green smoothie, and human-girl Jane, who wants to find her true self. Their unexpected friendship opens up a world of possibilities, as Lucy dreams of breaking free from overbearing parents to live the life she’s always wanted.
As one of the few WA schools that skilfully blend live theatre with live music, Busselton SHS’s Arts and GBM teams have crafted a unique experience for audiences of all ages.
Through wit, fun, charm, and a touch of the bizarre, the story explores themes of identity, freedom, and the hilarity of cultural clashes-all performed with the school’s talented musicians providing the soundtrack.
“Our students are once again proving that the Arts are alive and thriving in regional WA,” Director Lee Cooper said.
“This is a production not to be missed – a true celebration of creativity and collaboration across multiple Arts disciplines.”
The cast and musicians will showcase their spooky talents over four evening performances at the Busselton SHS Performing Arts Centre, from 7pm on Friday July 25, Saturday July 26, Friday August 1 and Saturday August 2.
With limited seats available and the Creepytown hype already buzzing, audiences should secure tickets quickly – they’ll disappear faster than a vampire at the crack of dawn!
