Born in the UK, Grimwood studied Art in South London from the age of 13.
At 16, he gained experience by working in design studios and within a few years was commissioning illustrators, typographers and designers often producing the roughs himself.
He is known to have changed the course of British illustration, both through his own work and by founding the internationally renowned Central Illustration Agency (CIA) 40 years ago, which now represents over 80 illustrators.
Grimwood's fluid and colourful work has found itself on canvas on many occasions with art exhibitions in galleries throughout the UK, including The Portland Gallery, London and The Royal Academy summer exhibition.
His work is constantly evolving through the digital medium.
Working with clients as diverse as the New York Times, Faber & Faber, Radio Times, Johnnie Walker, the BBC Proms, Sony, and The Beatles, Grimwood's emotive and idiosyncratic style has earned plaudits from around the globe, whether implemented through traditional painting and drawings or with an embrace of modern techniques.
His daughter Holly lives in Perth, and is sharing her father's work by selling limited-edition prints in Australia.
The latest exhibition, 'Down South Down Under' which runs from February 10 to March 22 at Peacetree Wines, is inspired by the wildlife found in southern Western Australia.
Brian and Holly Grimwood will be in attendance at the opening event on Friday February 9 from 4pm to 6pm.
The Peacetree Wines cellar door is located at 54b Bussell Hwy, Cowaramup and is open from 11am to 6pm every day excluding Wednesdays.
